MTC Optics Reticles
One of the biggest problems with scopes on small calibre rifles such as air and rimfire, is the lack of aim points when the trajectory gets loopy. Modern accuracy is such that an air rifle can be accurate to 65 yards+ at 12ft/lbs and a rimfire out to 100 but you have to aim in the right place. Mil dots are too far apart, designed to gauge a man sized target. Smaller gradations end up with a cluttered reticule, impossible to use with illumination or at lower magnification. This also renders the scope useless for long distance shooting with a flat round like a .17HMR. Another problem with long distance air is windage; the Christmas tree ladder configuration on the reticule compensates for this.
At MTC Optics, we weren't happy to compromise on reticles, nor would we copy another design. Using our extensive experience and plentiful user feedback, we designed two of our own. We think they're the best in the business. Please click on either reticle to learn more.
